Cool Food Blog

Sweet Explorations is a very cool food blog by Francois, a baker who inspires with his creative cookie artistry.  What initially caught my eye were his tricolor autumn leaves cookies.  Aren’t they lovely and so creative?

Everything on his site is so enticing, but I particularly love the skill involved in his pie cookies. These apple pie cookies look delicious as well as adorable.

These pumpkin pie cookies look like real miniature pumpkin pies. If you think that’s cute, check out the lattice pie cookies.

You have to check out his site and see for yourself. He makes cookies that look like old-fashioned 3D glasses, movie popcorn, melting popsicles, citrus slices and balloon animals.  Check out his Christmas cookies, including gift tags and gingerbread in the shape of San Francisco houses.  I can’t wait to see what he bakes next!

Cool Food Blog

Culinary Flavors is a very cool food blog of Greek recipes.  The most recent post on galotiri, or Greek milk, yogurt and cheese spread, caught my eye, admittedly because of its use of full fat yogurt and milk.  The richness of this dip is very appealing!

The site includes recipes for Greek classics like spanakopita to lesser-known dishes like the dessert mastic scented galaktoboureko with kataifi phylo and dishes that cross cultures like halva.

Panorama triangles look like yummy snacks.  In addition to the recipes, there’s a bit of Greek history so you are also learning about the Greek culture.  There are holiday recipes too, including Easter breads and cookies, Christmas cookies and New Year’s cake.

Cool Food Blog

Global Table Adventure is a very cool food blog about a family’s journey toward global peace and understanding through learning about each other’s foodways.  The family intends to highlight every country’s culture and food and focuses on one country each week, and they are almost done.  Recent countries include Uganda and Tuvalu.  The site features a cool interactive map to see what countries they have featured with a  photo of a recipe.  What a cool project and a great site for learning more about the world.

Cool Food Blog

Life, Love … and Sugar is a very cool food blog of a woman who loves sugar.  Today is the last day of National Ice Cream Month, and what attracted me to her site was this page of ice cream cakes.  How cool is the rainbow ice cream cake with fresh fruit?

I love the chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream pie.  It looks delicious!  Every now and again, I enjoy mint chocolate chip ice cream, and her mint Oreo brownie ice cream cake looks sinful.

Yes, the ice cream cakes are appealing, but so are the other treats she has.  I love the chocolate chip cookie cake, the Neapolitan cake and the red velvet cheesecake cake pops.

Manu’s Menu is a very cool food blog of a native Italian of Sicilian descent living in Australia.  Her husband is Indian, so her multicultural blog reflects Italian, Australian and Indian cuisine.  It is largely Italian, however, and the recipes are divided by regions of Italy.  It’s on point.  My family’s from Campania, and we traditionally make casatiello, the pastiera (but we call it pizza grano or wheat pie), pizza and rum baba.  There is a large section of Sicilian recipes.  Look at her amazingly gorgeous cassata cake.  I love cassatina, and hers look adorable.  Her St. Joseph’s Day sfinge look perfect.  A recent recipe is purple gnocchi on a parmigiano reggiano fondue, and it looks amazing!  I want to try the Australian damper bread too.

Cool Food Blog

Aeri’s Kitchen is a very cool food blog of Korean recipes and culture by a South Korean-born woman who now lives in the U.S.  Not only does her blog contain Korean and American recipes, it also has Korean language lessons and step-by-step recipe photos and YouTube videos.  Since I’ve recently discovered the delights of Koreatown in Manhattan, I’ve been interested in learning more about Korean food.  I’ve heard about shaved ice but have never had it.  I’ve seen it in the shops in Koreatown.  A yummy-looking summer dessert is PotBingSu or red bean crushed ice made with condensed milk, fruit, corn flakes and sticky rice cakes.  Looks like a sweet and refreshing treat!  This colorful steamed bread recipe sounds good too.  The recipe for the Korean street-food egg bbang, or egg muffins, looks yummy.  Her savory beef, pork and seafood dishes sound delish too.  These crabstick cakes sound like a nice summer snack or appetizer.

Foodie Fiasco is a very cool food blog of healthy, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free recipes published by a fifteen-year-old girl.  Her recipes are creative and sound delicious.  I’ve been wanting to try baking with chickpea flour, and she has a healthy cheesecake with a chickpea crust that she calls the World’s Healthiest Cheesecake.  I also like the post of the World’s Healthiest Cookie, told from the voice of the cookie’s star ingredient, coconut flour.  She has a fun feature called “All For One,” a recipe for a single serving of a cake or treat, such as peanut butter cake or chocolate doughnuts.  Her recipes use healthy ingredients like almond milk, olive oil and coconut flour.
