Keep Your Eye Upon the Donut, Saturday, December 7, 2013, 6 p.m., City Reliquary Museum, Brooklyn:  Opening night of a new exhibit at the museum on the history of donut shops in Brooklyn and Manhattan, including profiles of area donut shops like Peter Pan Donut & Pastry Shop, the Doughnut Plant, Mike’s Donuts & Coffee, The Donut Pub, Doughnuttery, Dun-Well Doughnuts, Shaikh’s Donuts, Dough and Carpe Donut NYC.  Admission is free.

The Third Annual Slow Food Show, Sunday, December 8, 2013, 1 p.m., Astor Center Screening Room, East Village: Showcasing food entrepreneurs who produce locally.  Tickets $15.

Cooking Class: Dolci delle Feste, Tuesday, December 10, 2013, 6:30 p.m., Westchester Italian Cultural Center, Tuckahoe, New York: Members and their guests can learn how to make holiday desserts.

Gluten-Free Sweets with a Japanese Twist, Wednesday, December 11, 2013, 6:30 p.m., Japan Society, Midtown:  Luane Kohnke, gluten-free cookbook author, discusses what gluten is and gives tips for gluten-free baking.  Nicole Bermensolo, founder of Kyotofu, will demonstrate the use of traditional Japanese ingredients in baking, including miso brownies, green tea cupcakes and yuzu muffins.  Tasting and book signing.  $16.
