5 Food Tech Tools

Cover–A new app that automatically pays your bill at the end of your meal at a restaurant.  So far, 16 restaurants have signed up to participate.

Big Oven–This updated app helps you create recipes from your leftover ingredients as well as keyword searches for recipes that exclude certain ingredients.  You can easily change the number of servings and ingredient sizes adjust.  It creates a shopping list for you too.  Also allows you to upload a photo of a typed or handwritten recipe and has someone transcribe it for you.  It imports recipes from food websites.  (Interesting copyright discussion but if recipes are not copyright protected, then it seems OK.)

Foodpairing–a website that helps food professionals create recipes based on flavor combinations.  Not a recipe database, it is based on the science of taste.

Rosie–a new app for Syracuse-based shoppers.  The app lets shoppers know when they are low on certain items, and they can order more groceries easily.
