Perfect Fruit Gets Top Dollar in Japan

Interesting article on luxury fruit in Japan!  Apparently, the Japanese give these hundred- and thousand-dollar fruits as gifts.  I have a memory of the best-tasting peaches I’ve ever had.  I didn’t pick them myself or get them from a roadside stand in Georgia or South Carolina.  No, I got them from a street stand on a corner near Union Square.  And they were cheap!

  1. Oh, my. I love a ripe, juicy piece of fruit, too…but, sheesh, that’s nuts to spend that amount on something that won’t even last! Thanks for sharing.

  2. Oh dear, this is terrible news! The world might finally have gone crazy. Then again, were your peaches the perfect size and did they come from some special place on this planet or were they sold in special boxes? I’m sure there’s a perfectly logical reason for the price😛
