Shame on Sandy–A Benefit, Saturday, January 12, 2013, 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., Highline Stages, Studio D, 441 West 14th Street between 9th and 10th Avenues, Manhattan:  Food sampling from NYC chefs like April Bloomfield, Bruce and Eric Bromberg, Eric Ripert, Daniel Boulud, Mario Batali, Michael White and more.  Performances by Patrick Stewart, Anthony Bourdain, Mario Batali and more.  Tickets are $150.

Whiskey and Cheese Pairing, Thursday, January 17, 2013, 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., The Homestead, 67 Irving Place, Manhattan:  A pairing of whiskey and cheese organized by Bedford Cheese Shop.

Beer, Bourbon & BBQ Festival, Saturday, January 26, 2013, 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., The Tunnel, 608 West 28th Street, Manhattan:  Southern food festival in two sessions, one on bacon and one on whole hog.  Each has tastings of beer, bourbon, pulled pork bbq, ribs and fixins.  With bluegrass music.  Tickets are $99 and $109 and selling out fast.

Sixth Annual Tasting Event, The Village Voice Choice Eats, March 19, 2013, 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., the 69th Armory at Lexington Avenue, Manhattan:  Tickets go on sale January 16, 2013 for this event.  More than 50 participating restaurants chosen by Voice food critics Robert Sietsema and Tejal Rao.
