Two for Tuesday: Coffee and Tea Cakes

This week’s Two for Tuesday are coffee and tea cakes.  The first are brandied cherry beignets from Epicerie Boulud (Daniel Boulud’s pastry shop).  They are called beignets, but I think their consistency is more like a tea cake.  These melt in your mouth with the warm flavor of cherry.  Yes, I ate the whole container myself.  They are that good.

If you like some crumbs in your coffee cake, the crumb cake from Baker’s Bounty in Linden, NJ, is for you.  Now, this is what I call a crumb cake.  It is available at the Union Square Greenmarket.

  1. All you had to say was “brandied cherries.” LOL Not that I’m getting tipsy off of cookies. But those sound pretty irresistible.
