On July 3, New York chefs will be cooking for 1,000 people in Tohoku, Japan. Daniel Boulud organized the New York Cooks event and other chefs participating include David Bouley, Floyd Cardoz, Craig Koketsu, Tadashi Ono, François Payard, Michael Romano and Bill Telepan, as well as Tokyo based Patrice Martineau. Today, I saw Francois Payard announce on his Facebook page that he was boarding the plane to leave for the event.
