H&H Bagels on the Upper West Side closed yesterday. The bagel shop was featured in “Seinfeld” and “Friends.” I admit I’ve never been there, or at least, don’t remember going. I am a downtown girl. Calvin Trillin quoted someone at the GVSHP event that when asked how to get uptown, the person replied, they didn’t know, they’d never been. (I might have this wrong, but you get the idea.) Still, I am sad to see any part of New York food history go.
