Last night was the Greenwich Village Society for Historic Preservation (GVSHP)’s Annual Meeting and Presentation of the Village Awards at the Village Community School on West 10th Street. Humorist and food writer Calvin Trillin presented the awards. Two food establishments got awards. The first was Annisa Restaurant (13 Barrow Street). Chef Anita Lo accepted. “Annisa” means woman in Arabic, and the restaurant exclusively serves wine from female-owned wineries. The second was McNulty’s Tea & Coffee Co. In operation since 1895, McNulty’s, purveyor of rare teas and choice coffee, has been owned by David Wong for the last 31 years.
