I experienced pasta ecstasy today. I ate at Michael White’s Osteria Morini. Osteria Morini’s cuisine is inspired by the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy. The decor is rustic. At lunch time, the dining room fills quickly and bustles with chatter. My party ordered a salad as appetizer to share. It was dressed perfectly and full of flavor. The design on the dishes adds to the country charm of the restaurant. For entrees, the stracci, wide ribbon pasta with braised porcini mushrooms:
This is the best pasta dish I have had in a long time. It was as flavorful as it is lovely. We also had the cappelletti, truffled mascarpone ravioli with melted butter and prosciutto:
This pasta was excellent as well. There was a hint of prosciutto, which I like, as I don’t like when it overpowers a dish. The ravioli had this wonderful burst of creamy flavor in the center.
For dessert, we tried three. I absolutely loved the chocolate tart with cherries and straciatella gelato:
Just looking at this photo is bringing back wonderful memories. We also got the meringue with pistachio gelato and apricot sorbet:
Osteria Morini is one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in a long time. The food is exceptional.
